We have to stop

Message from Founding Principal/CEO, LIPA

Despite sterling help from our partners (EMI, HMV, Yamaha), latterly we were paying for this contest.  The funding arrangements for higher education are being seriously changed by the coalition government, so all our costs are under pressure.

While we were trying to see if it was possible to keep MIBI alive by researching other funders, we read the recent announcement by The British Phonographic Industry of THE NEXT BRIT THING.

If you read the details on the website (www.nextbritthing.com), you’ll see a repeat of MIBI  … possibly better given the partners and, given the partners, it’s unlikely that anyone is going to assist something similar. So we have to stop.

While this new competition doesn’t have the marketing element, if you are a singer/songwriter, have a look at this new contest. You’ll experience something of what MIBI was.

Best of luck.

Mark
